I would really like to know how long it takes for a recruiting commander to send the release papers?

Forest A asked:

As it is, I am still in the DEP for the army. As of now, I have told my recruiter and sent a letter to my recruiting commander at the MepS station that I wish to be released from the army DEP to go to a different branch. How long does the process of being released from the DEP take?

well if you have already signed all of the paperwork and now you want to go to a different branch of service (AF, Navy, CG) – that’s going to take quite a while – in fact they’ll probably tell you to show at MEPS (since you have already signed everything) and they’ll try to transfer you later – you should really be sure before you sign.

The dep is not as 24 hours but it could be advised tho that you are low man on the recruiter it could be advised tho that depends on the totem pole right now.

since you are not a high priority, it will take as long as it takes. BTW..you will need a waiver to get into a nother branch now, and if you want Navy or AF.. chances are they will NOT give it to you.
