How can a high school tennis player get noticed by recruiting colleges?

by admin on October 11, 2009

Akumi B asked:

I’m a sophomore who is ranked number 2 on her team ( sometimes I’m #1) and I realize that colleges really don’t look for high school teams when they recruit. So, how can I get the attention of colleges that are handing out scholarships? Should I play tournaments? If so, what tournaments are colleges notorious for scouting at?

I’m a tennis player myself. Trust me, its not easy. Unlike any other sports, you have to make some efforts of your own. You have to tell your coach and ask about any special scholarships, or if you plan on playing in college. I just wish people would get over basketball and football and pay attention to other fun sports already.
