Have you ever talked to a military recruiting officer in the US?

auntb93again asked:

I went to a school this summer that was in an office building where the Marine recruiting station was by the elevator door. I got to talking to the recruiting officers, and observing their office, and even reading their pamphlets while I sat and ate my sandwich. I found out some amazing things, and one of them was what truly professional Marines we have now that there is no draft. I also saw the same sense of professionalism and pride at the other recruiting offices, which were in the same building. An all-volunteer military has been one of our better ideas. I prayed for that since the 1960s, and I’m so proud to see it worked.

Did you know you don’t have to be contemplating joining up yourself, or even be eligible to join, just to go in and ask questions and pick up pamphlets?

And yes, I think we have the best military service in the world, with the possible exception of the Swiss.
